Davidson Fellows Scholarship from the Davidson Institute
Looking for financial aid to help fund your way through college can be time consuming and tedious.
So which scholarships should you apply for and which should you leave well alone?
The Davidson Fellows Scholarship is valuable, and is worth up to $50,000 to the successful applicant.
There is funding available for science, mathematics, technology, music, literature and philosophy. There is also an additional category entitled "Outside the Box".
Eligibility
To be eligible to apply you will need to be:-
- a US citizen
- under 18 years old in the October of the year of application. There is no minimum age
- have completed a significant piece of work in your chosen category, this is required to be a work that you have created
These scholarships are awarded on the basis of "significant work", which means accomplishment that experts in the field recognize as significant. Applicants will also be expected to demonstrate the potential to make a positive contribution to society.
Dates & Funding
Deadlines for the six areas of funding are from February to March. For the "Outside the Box" scholarship, the initial screening form should be sent in by January.
Grants of $50,000, $25,000 and $10,000 are awarded, with successful applicants being informed by July.
2006 Davidson Fellows
In 2006, sixteen scholarships were awarded for sums in excess of $10,000 to students between the ages of 12 and 17.
